Stellar Quines are committed to protecting the information of our supporters, colleagues and audiences. We will never share your details without your permission, and we are committed to keeping your data safe.
Cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you. A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the ‘lifetime’ of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number. For more information about cookies.
We mainly use only one type of cookies on our website:
Per session cookies, which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookies file of your browser until you leave the site. More specifically we use the following cookies which carry out the functions described:
• __utma – This is a Google Analytics cookie and tracks the number of times you have visited the Stellar Quines website.
• __utmb and __utmc – This is another Google Analytics cookie and acts to calculate how long you have spent on the website in each session.
• __utmz – This Google Analytics cookie tracks what search engine you have visited the site from and which search terms you used to find the website.
When people visit our website, we use a third-party service called Google Analytics to collect standard visitor information and details of behaviour patterns. We do this in order to make our website better, and the data remains completely anonymous. Neither Stellar Quines nor Google attempt to find out the identity of people visiting our site.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter for us. This provides statistics about email opening and clicks in order to help us monitor and improve how we stay in touch with you. For more information about MailChimp, please see their privacy notice. You can remove yourself from our mailing list at any point by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails, or by emailing our Data Protection Officer..
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect a few pieces of personal information. This is to ensure that you receive the most relevant and useful emails, and so that we can contact you if we need any additional information. We do not sell, trade or share email lists with other organisations.
If you support us by making a donation through our website we will usually collect:
- Your name
- Your contact details
- Your bank or credit card details (if applicable)
- Details of previous donations to us
We collect your data in order to allow us to process your donation and keep in touch with you, if you tell us you are happy for us to do so. We will use your data to:
- Provide you with the information you asked for
- Administer your donation or support your fundraising, including processing Gift Aid
- Keep a record of your relationship with us
- Ensure we know how you prefer to be contacted
Holding this information is necessary for our legitimate interests as a charitable organisation.
We use Stripe, a third-party service provider to process your donation and if you have opted-in to gift aid your donation, we will provide your details to HMRC in order to process the claim.
All our third-party service providers are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in line with our policies. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes. We only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.
As well as collecting our own audience data, we also work with venues to gain a better insight into our audiences. This may involve collecting personal data such as your name, address, email, contact number, and may include special categories of personal data. This information will never be collected unless you have given specific permission. We will never share this information with any other company without your consent, unless it has been anonymised. If you have any questions about how we use audience data, please do get in touch with us.
We share anonymised personal information with organisations such as Creative Scotland, who use the information to assess the impact of the public investment made in Stellar Quines.
We sometimes work in partnership with other organisations such as theatre companies and venues. They will be aware of bookings and contact details that are shared with us, but they cannot contact you unless you request to be added to their mailing lists as well, usually through feedback forms and newsletters. We will never pass on sensitive information or payment details.
Stellar Quines does not sell or rent user information to anyone.
